I’d never thought about writing a blog until I switched my major from marketing to advertising. I found that my passion lies in creativity and all things colored pink! I enjoy writing, graphic design, and making my room Gossip Girl themed. Nothing makes me happier than connecting with people and sharing who I am with those people. EARLY CHILDHOOD

MY FIRST CREATIVE PASSION

When I was around eleven to fourteen years old, I dreamed of becoming an author. Reading was my favorite hobby, so writing came naturally to me. I loved creating fictional stories filled with coming-of-age moments and romance! Writing felt like the perfect way to express myself and bring my imagination to life.

2020 – 2021

BEAUTY INFLUENCER

At the beginning of my high school years, I became obsessed with all things beauty-related. I even owned my own Instagram page where I shared my creative makeup looks. Unfortunately, it was hacked, but I was still proud nonetheless to gain over 1,000 followers on it.

2021 – EARLY 2024

ACADEMIC WEAPON

I planned to pursue a career in psychology after graduation, so I focused on my academics and explored different career paths within the field. For a while, I was set on becoming a psychiatrist. Throughout high school, I joined the National Honor Society, competed in Business Professionals of America, and maintained a 4.0 GPA while taking several AP courses. I graduated in 2024.

STARTING MY COLLEGE JOURNEY

I was accepted into Grand Valley State University as a Psychology major, but that didn’t last long. I eventually switched to Marketing, realizing it fit me better. I’ve always had a creative mind rather than a scientific one. My freshman year brought a lot of change: new friends, new experiences, and a deeper understanding of myself and what I’m truly passionate about.

LATE 2025

FINDING MY RHYTHM

The summer of 2025 was one of the hardest times in my life. Returning to my hometown felt heavy, and even while living with my parents, the loneliness lingered. But I made it through. Now, as a sophomore and Blog Director for the Advertising Club at GVSU, I’ve found my rhythm again. Changing my major to Advertising has helped me reconnect with myself and feel aligned with my goals and passions.
